mpc: 13 The preliminary estimate for GDP growth in the United Kingdom was 0.4% in Q3. This had
been a little weaker than expected at the time of the August
Inflation Report. Looking through the
short-term volatility in UK energy output, non-oil GDP growth seemed likely to have been around 0.5-
0.6% in Q3. The latest indicators had seemed consistent with stronger growth in the second half of the
year than in the first.
