mpc: 14 The flash estimate for euro-area HICP inflation in May showed a rise from 2.0% to 2.5%. That probably reflected rising petrol prices, by comparison with particularly low energy prices twelve months earlier, and the impact of higher administered prices. An important question was whether these temporary influences on inflation would prompt higher wage increases.
